There are so many scriptures that in the natural look impossible, absolutely impossible. But the reality is that when God says it, then it is totally and completely possible, by the word of God. Our confidence can never be in how we do things. Our confidence must be in the presence of the Lord in our lives. There is no person in the world that has not been challenged by life, and life can be incredible challenging. But we have the Spirit of the Lord to help us through these things.
We can talk about the glory of God and we can see the glory of God but it must be in operation in our lives, in our hearts. It is not just a nice thing to say, but the glory of God needs to be that thing that propels us forward. And today you are going to see the glory of God and it must be a part of your life. There are so many scriptures that I claim for my own life and here is one – “it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” (Galatians 2:20). It is not only a promise but it is also a requirement – it is no longer Peter Nash, not his will or his ways but Christ living in me. And if He can do that for one, He can do it for all of us. No longer me but all of Him, and it is the same for each of us.
Many times we forget the mandate that heaven has placed upon our lives. It is not just about coming to church on Sunday, it is about every single day of our lives. Let me ask you this question – Is Jesus first in your life?, is He first in your heart?. See, I can’t answer that for you. It is a question between you and the Lord. Is it you that is living your life or is God who is living through you?. It does not matter what comes against our lives, it matters what we do with what comes against our lives.
I am convinced that everyone has been opposed by the devil, whether it an attack against our emotions, attack in our finances, attack in our health - all these things to prevent us from having more of the Lord. We can have more of God in our lives and it sometimes comes down to the attitudes of our heart. Where is your heart today? Is it in alignment with heaven? Are you holding on to bitterness? Are you holding on to rejection? Are you holding on to unforgiveness? Denying people of love? Let me give you a little hint - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. And He came, because God so loved you and me, and he chose you and He chose me. And we think that we are just passing through life. No! We are on a divine assignment in this world, in our hearts, in our lives.
The Hebrew word for “glory” in scripture is “kavod”- it means the “weightiness or heaviness of God.”. There were many services that I have been in personally where I haven’t been able to stand up. I am on the floor, because of the heaviness of the glory of God. Many times I can’t stand up in the presence of the Lord.
There had been times where I have laid on the floor for two and a half hours, where I have had major speakers leaving the room when I am still lying on the floor. The service is over and can’t get up, because of the presence of the Lord, many times. And in these instances the Lord has given me great revelations. Part of me being in Bulgaria is because the glory of the Lord has hit me. Do you believe it, that the glory of the Lord can transform your live?, and the weightiness of God is the heaviness of God.
God wants to touch you with new sense of His glory. I don’t know if you have faith for what is in scripture, but I do. Like God chose Moses to be a deliverer, but in reality God has chosen you to be a deliverer. And He didn’t choose you by accident, see, God’s ways are higher than our ways. However you came to the Lord is the way the Lord decides in His heart.
I believe you were dispatch to earth by the King of kings and Lord of lords for such a time as this. It not just about existing but it is about using what God gives you to advance His life on this earth. Why should we pursue the glory of God? Why is it important to have the glory of God in our life? I don’t know how many people talk about it or minister on it, but God’s glory is one of the keys that unlocks many doors.
I sense Him today, I sense the glory of God today and it is for all of us, it is for our lives. There is a scripture that says: “For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23. We all fall short of the glory of God. But we need it in our hearts , we need it in our lives, His glory, His presence. Moses has cried out “Show me your glory Lord” and then a few verses later he says “If your presence and your glory do not go with me then I don’t want to go.” If God’s presence is not with me when I go to Bulgaria, or Vietnam, when I go to Africa or my daily job, if the presence and the glory of God is not with me then I don’t want to go. And this is Moses, the deliverer of Israel out of Egypt –
I need your glory I need your presence, I can’t do it, but if I have your glory and your presence I can go and see heavenly fruit. Right now I am under the influence of the Holy Spirit and my words today, I know that the Lord is making a way where no way is possible, and the scriptures that I will go through I ask the Lord that they will touch your heart, because the words of scripture bring transformation and change. When you declare a word that is from heaven which the word of God is, you are activating heaven. You see, these are not only words, they are the Lord Jesus Christ, and He is the word, so when you declare the word, you declare heaven, heaven coming to earth and into your life, the glory of the Lord that changes everything.
Moses didn’t want to go on his assignment, but the glory of God had to go with Him. He said – show me your glory Lord. The prayer Moses had is my prayer that I have today. Show me your glory, show me the weightiness of heaven, show me the glory Lord that you rest in every day. Lord I need you, I need your glory, I need your presence every day. Lord I can’t do it but in you I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me from the inside out. Let your glory rest in my heart, show me your glory Lord. Just right now close your eyes and ask the Lord, Lord show me your glory, show me your presence, show me where you were in this situation, show me where you were when all this happened. Show me your glory, that I may represent you and declare heavenly invasion – Thy kingdom comes, Thy will be done. You are an instrument, finely tuned instrument.
What is glory? It is lightness, splendor, great power and strength, it is majestic and honorable and it is talked about many times in the scripture.
The first thing that I do when I come to a service is to put my heart right before the Lord. I spend many hours before I know I am ministering to others, spending hours in the presence of the Lord for word and direction when ministering. Many of us do not understand that we are aliens in this world, that we are not of this world, we are of a different world, we are of a different kingdom, the kingdom of Heaven, the kingdom of light, and of course there are going to be attacks against our lives because of that fact.
Here we have to understand that only the presence of God and His glory can take us through these things. Romans 8:18 says “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” What does that tell you? When you go through suffering, get ready for the glory of the Lord to be revealed in you.
But some would say, pastor you don’t understand I have rejection issues or anger issues. Moses had anger issues too, he killed an Egyptian, and he had insecurity issues, where he said “I can’t do this”, so he asked the Lord – What must I say? God responded - Just tell pharaoh that I AM. Just tell your adversary I AM. Can you imagine how God laughed at some of the questions He was asked? Just say – I AM.
When you don’t know what to say, God knows what to say through you. Let His glory touch you, whatever you are struggling with, whatever darkness is trying to envelop you, God says is I AM, the answer is I AM, His glory. It is no longer I that lives but Christ that lives in me. Going past all your insecurities, pass them. You can have an outer court experience like the one Israel had, but God has called you to inner court experience.
There are many Christian ministries that are happy to be in the outer court, but God is calling you into the Holy of holies. This is our inheritance that we can have free access, where the word says “come boldly” to the throne of Grace, where God releases his dominion and his authority. In 2008 the Lord totally and supernaturally transformed my life. For many years I led a church that was on the cutting edge in Canada, bringing the prophetic realm into our nation. Every morning I was leading a morning prayer service for about 8 years, from 7to 8 o’clock in the morning. My idea for prayer is maybe slightly different than yours. My prayer is God speaking to me rather than me speaking to Him. Does that make sense? I am listening for Him. I am not putting all my petitions and other things beforehand. I want and I have face to face experiences where the Lord speaks to me, and He speaks into my life. Believe me He knows everything, He knows your heart, He knows when it is not in alignment with Him, He knows when it is in alignment with Him, He knows you, He knows me, He knows me even better that I know myself and it is the same thing for you.
So, I am on the floor at the church where there are probably 10 people in this prayer service, and you know, we had from 200-250 people at our church then, but only 10 would come to the prayer service. Lord, show me your glory – that was my heart cry everyday and it still is, because out of glory and presence comes supernatural revelation for our life. I am on a divine assignment for the Lord.
When I was flying in Thursday night, in the airport in Sofia Bulgaria, I was carrying my passport in my back pocket and I get off the plane and I go to the passenger exit point to check my passport and as I approach the officers cubicle, I checked my pocket but there is no passport there and at that moment I was tempted to panic, because I needed a passport to get into Bulgaria. Then fear tried to hit me but I said “no”, I am not going to be afraid, I made a decision – God show me your glory. And as I was speaking to the Lord, a police officer approached me holding a passport while looking at people’s faces. Then I shouted – hey, that is my passport. Then he came to me and asked my name. And you know what, in that moment I somehow forgot my name for a moment, maybe you had the same kind of experience in your life, not remembering your name. I answered, my name is Peter Nash, then he looked at the passport and gave it to me, shaking his head. Then I entered the country. God showed me His glory at that moment and I am very happy He is at work.
Once when I had a trip to Florida, USA, where I was preaching, I decided to go to Mexico after ministering. It was about an hour flight distance away. I went to a resort hotel where I was working on one of my books. The last night before I fly out back to Canada, I was riding a bike and as I was driving down a path, all of a sudden the front wheel got stuck in a hole in the road and my handlebar locked up completely and I fell head first onto the road. When I got up from the ground I felt great bodily pain. Later when I went to the hospital the doctor said that I have eleven broken ribs in my left side, a damaged lung and a broken spinal vertebra. Because I had a travel insurance ,they put me in a very nice hospital. Eight days later they put me back in a plane to go back to Canada. My entire ribcage was bandaged to protect my ribs from collapsing.
People have 12 ribs on each side, I had 11 broken ribs, and the doctor said that if the last one was broken too, then the whole ribcage would have collapsed. But God sent a miracle. Do you know that some of God’s miracles come with pain or suffering, but we think that everything will be okay, will be perfect, but look at the apostles – there was only one that was not killed and he may wanted to be killed also.
We like when things go well, but when they don’t go well, we say it is the enemy. I am not saying that pain and suffering come from God, we serve a good God and He desires good things for you, but he uses everything to advance His Kingdom. So, eight days later I was on the plane flying back home. They put me in first class ,because they did not want anybody to hit my ribs. I had a lady sitting beside me. She was in tears, she was crying. I started to talk to her – Why are you crying. She said – I want to sit on the outside, then I said – I sit here because I have eleven broken ribs in my left side, a damaged lung and a broken spinal vertebra, and then she started to cry even greater, because she realized she was selfish and she put her priorities over other people’s priorities. I said – I am Christian and a pastor and believe that God can heal us. So I had the opportunity to pray with her and pray for her freedom. I gave her two of my books and I invited her to come to our service.
Why do I tell you that story? This story was full of pain and full of suffering but God did not ever abandoned me, and He said – Peter, I have an assignment for you – to touch that woman. Do you know, there has been many times when I have been to a place where in His glory God asked me just to touch one person. I was flying to Mozambique, and in one of this journeys God told me that there will be at least one person on the plane that I will touch, and God brought someone to my path and I shared the Kingdom of God and the Glory of God with this person.
You may be called to release the glory of God for one person. Do you know that glory is to revealed in you? God’s plan is to have His manifesting glory working in your life and my life in an increased way. 2 Corinthians 3:8 says - But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. Walking in the glory of the Lord. Everything that you need is inside you, the Lord has already released it, He has already chosen you and He is at work in our hearts and in our lives.
If you want to see the glory of the Lord in your life, understand that is available for you and for me. Do you believe the scriptures? I believe the scriptures totally. Many times they may look opposite of what you are walking through.
I want to remind you of me being on my face in 2008 for two and a half hours. God gave me three things and they are found in the Holy of Holies in the tent in the wilderness, I don’t want to go in the detail, but the three things that are in the arc of the covenant – the golden jar of manna, the withered rod of Aaron and the second set of the ten commandments, and God told me, Peter I am giving you these things, and you Peter have the authority to also give these things. What does the golden jar of manna represent? Every time i get up to minster I am going to have a word, fresh word to speak, because in the jar there was a fresh manna and will be fresh manna into eternity and to me the fresh manna also represents that I will never lack finances, which does not mean I will never be challenged in finances but I will never lack finances. And number three – the ten commandments. Everyone of us has broken a commandment – all have sinned.
By the way in the Old Testament there are 643 (or so) commandments. So when we come to the ten commandment, I felt God saying – Peter the issue is not about keeping the commandments, the issue is about love. Because the scripture says, the words of Jesus – Those that love me, they will keep my commandments. The issue is not about keeping the commandments but about love, the lack of love in our life.
Romans 28:29-30 says this - For whom he did foreknow, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestine, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Even though in the natural you fall short, He glorified you, the glory is in you, you just don’t think it, you don’t know it, but the glory of God is in your heart. Isaiah 60:1-2 says - Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. Arise – to whom does God speak here? To people, to us, not to the walls. And his glory shall be seen upon you – Can you do it? No, but God can and it will be seen on you. The great think about the glory of God is that it is not a work you can do. He chose you, just like He chose Moses, Joshua and every other name in scripture, he chose you and the glory of the Lord will be seen on you. What really I want now is that you have revelation at that, that you will understand the fullness of what I have just said. God’s glory can be seen on you. What is going to transform the world? – The glory of God been seen on you. What is going to change the world? The glory of the Lord on you. Not fear, not insecurities, not discouragement – all those things are to oppose God’s glory for your life on you. Can you get a picture of the glory of God on your life today?
One last story. When I was In Mozambique, one evening I was in a traditional African village, it was full of non believers not a Christian village. In had some 500 inhabitants and there was no electricity or running water there. We brought a semi-trailer with sound equipment, movie projectors, screens and because it was at night time and the people in the village had nothing to do, the whole village came to see what was happening. Then we started projecting the Jesus movie and people started pushing against the platform and then somebody said – Why does no one go out into the crowd.
Then I decide to go outside to the crowd and then I got surrounded by 10 to 15 men like a circle around me. And because everything was sand they started to kick sand at me and spit at men. Then I heard the spirit of Lord saying this – Show them love and show them my glory. I have a brown belt in Jiu-jitsu and in my natural nature I am quite able to defend myself, but I heard the Lord saying – Peter love them. So I went around to all of them and looked them in the eyes and I said – God loves you, you have no idea how much God loves you. So then I went around the circle saying this to every person and they slowly stop kicking sand at me. And after about ten minutes they started to bring their children over to me for me to pray for them. Some of them were sick with incurable diseases, but the total situation changed because of the Glory of God being seen, where I could have been angry. But God is able.
I will finish with one scripture: Colossian 1:24-27 “Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, 25 of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, 26 the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. 27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”. There are thigs what are still hidden in the scripture that we have not seen, there are still weapons in scripture that we know nothing about. And I believe this – that the time is coming when God will release it to his children. Let the Glory of the Lord take you deeper, in the name of Jesus. You must have the understanding that God has a glory for your life, now, today. I know it is in my life, I know it operates in my life and the Glory of the Lord is Incredibly important for you. Much love.
